Genre: Young Adullt | Mystery

Bestselling author of the Wicked Lovely books Melissa Marr’s first contemporary YA novel is a twisted southern gothic tale of obsession, romance, and murder. A killer is obsessed with Eva Tilling. Can she stop him, or will he claim her?

When Eva Tilling wakes up in the hospital, she’s confused—who in her sleepy little North Carolina town could have hit her with their car? And why? But before she can consider the question, she finds that she’s awoken with a strange new skill: the ability to foresee people’s deaths when they touch her. While she is recovering from the hit-and-run, Nate, an old flame, reappears, and the two must traverse their rocky past as they figure out how to use Eva’s power to keep her friends—and themselves—alive. But while Eva and Nate grow closer, the killer grows increasingly frantic in his attempt to get to Eva.

For the first time, New York Times bestselling author Melissa Marr has applied her extraordinary talent to contemporary realism. Chilling twists, unrequited obsession, and high-stakes romance drive this Gothic, racy thriller—a story of small-town oppression and salvation. Melissa’s fans, and every YA reader, will find its wild ride enthralling

THOUGHTS

This is probably the most creepiest book I’ve ever read in my entire life. Trust me, I have read a lot of creepy books from incest up to mutilating parts of their body. But, this. . .goodness.

I’m a big fan of Criminal Minds. It’s one of the creepiest shows I’ve ever watch (and still watching now). So, I’m no stranger to this kind of, um, thinking. Made for You is just like Criminal Minds but a lot worse. Watching that show is enough for me to check my doors and windows every night. But, this, reading the point of view of the delusional killer is much worse than watching it. Made for You makes me want to hide and just stay at my home. FOREVER. This book made me doubtful about every freaking one.

This book is about the story of Eva, Eva had an “accident”. Well, someone tried to kill her and when she woke up she had this gift that when someone touches her she can see how that person will die. Made for You is written in 3 points of view: Eva (The main character), Grace (Eva’s best friend), and emhegrgegend Judge (The delusional stalker and killer). Trust me, reading his/her point of view was enough for me to throw up. Every time I read what she or he’s thinking, all I wanted to do was curl up and watch a lot of funny videos. The Judge was delusional. So delusional. And I couldn’t stand every time he/she killed someone. The Judge thought that he/she was saving them, how delusional is that?!!! Plus, add to the creepy factor, about 80% Melissa Marr already revealed who the fuck is The Judge is and EVA & her friends doesn’t have any freaking clue!

The only thing that I didn’t like about this book is the love interest. Eva and Nate had no chemistry. NO CHEMISTRY. I’m not a fan of Nate’s and I think he’s somewhat stiff. I didn’t feel any sparks and I wasn’t sold on the idea of how they fell on each other. It felt forced.

I think this book’s premise was really refreshing. I have read so many books with the same plot but with less creepiness and they were always the same. Crazy stalker, a lover who’s always there, finding out the truth blah blah blah.

Made for You made me feel really dirty. This book made me feel really uncomfortable. MELISSA MARR MADE ME FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE. I don’t think I’m eager to meet that woman without a police officer by my side. I mean all of this in good way because Made for You was really an enjoyable read *shudders* (DID I ACTUALLY SAY “ENJOYABLE”?!) and Melissa Marr’s story telling was really really good.
